'R.E.B.E.L' by Boy Blue
R.E.B.E.L. is a film project by Boy Blue co-funded with the Barbican, featuring and created with young people from London who weren’t able to vote in the EU referendum, capturing their voices, opinions, hopes and fears. It aims to fuel the rebels of the future.
The work aims to respond hopefully to challenging questions around cultural identity, what it means to belong to a community, how we deal with our feelings of powerlessness and how we move forward within our fractured and polarized country.
This performance-based, episodic and site-specific film will incorporate music, dance and performance poetry around the notion of Britishness.
Olivier winning BOY BLUE were founded in London by choreographer Kenrick 'H2O' Sandy & musician Michael 'Mikey J' Asante, present hip-hop as an art form in its own right, by creating exhilarating and critically acclaimed dance theatre productions.
